Social Accountability 8000 Certification in Hyderabad

Hyderabad district was formed in 1948 by merging Atraf-a-Balda District and Baghat District. Baghat was previously a Taluk in Atraf-e-Balda District, and was made a separate district in 1931-34 under the subedar of Medak division. In 1978 Hyderabad district was later split into Hyderabad Urban District and Hyderabad Rural District. Hyderabad rural district was later renamed as Ranga Reddy District. Hyderbad Urban district is now known as Hyderabad district.

Before establishment of the standard in the year 1997 , situation of the workman which is most strongest pillar of any economy was in worst . specially in Asia the life and future of the workman was in trouble . hence the initiative taken by the voluntary organization Social Accountability International ( SAI ) was established in the year 1997 . The SA8000 Standard is the central document of our work at SAI. It is one of the world’s first auditable social certification standards for decent workplaces, across all industrial sectors. It is based on the UN Declaration of Human Rights, conventions of the ILO, UN and national law, and spans industry and corporate codes to create a common language to measure social performance.

The SA 8000 certification is the Social Accountability System standard. It is applicable to companies of any size that wish to address the social and ethical aspects of their business. A Social Accountability System proves to customers that the company holds adequate provisions for the protection of workers’ rights. Further, it ensures ethical production of all goods manufactured by the company.

It can be applied to any company, of any size, worldwide. SA 8000 certification addresses issues including forced and child labour, occupational health and safety, freedom of association and collective bargaining, discrimination, disciplinary practices, working hours, compensation, and management systems.
